Type 1 diabetes
From Perciavalle Health and Science News
Type 1 diabetes is characterized by the inability to produce insulin. In type 2 diabetes however, the ability to produce insulin may not be impaired, but instead the body is unable to appropriately respond to insulin, known as insulin resistance. As a result, glucose is not transported into cells and remains in the bloodstream. [1]
